SBI South Africa will issue you an ATM card once you have opened a savings or current account with us. Existing customers can apply for the card by submitting ATM card application form, available under forms, to their branch .You can also obtain add-on cards by submitting a request through internet banking or at an SBI South Africa branche at Durban, Johanneburg, Lenasia or Cape Town.
You will not find any SBI ATM in South Africa as SBI uses the ATMs of other banks on MasterCard affiliation to dispense cash to its customers.
Your ATM card can be used at all ATMs in South Africa where you see the Master Card logo.
This functionality is not made available at present.
You can withdraw upto ZAR 4000 per day from any Master Card affiliated ATM in South Africa from your Savings or Cheque account . Your POS limit is ZAR 4000 per day.
Currently your SBI South Africa ATM card gives you access to the following services:
*Cash withdrawal
*Fast Cash
*Account Balance Inquiry
POS – SBI South Africa ATM card is a debit card, which can be used at MasterCard POS. The Daily limit is ZAR 4000.00 per day.
The present service fees are :
ZAR 5.00 per transaction for cash withdrawals
ZAR 1.00 per transaction for balance enquiry
ZAR 2.00 per POS transaction
As per the practice in South Africa such cards are destroyed by the bank which owns the ATM machine. Hence, in case your ATM card is retained by the ATM, please call on 0800 982 360 (24 x 7 Toll free call centre) and get the card hot listed. Call centre agent will ask you the account number and/or card number to hotlist it. During office hours ( 8.30 AM to 5.00 PM ) on a weekday you may also call the branch on 0027 11 7784500 or send an e-mail to ambanking1.rsa@statebank.com
